WHAT IS A PENTEST?

A penetration test, or a pentest as it is commonly referred to, is a security testing process that simulates cyber attacks to find and exploit vulnerabilities and security holes. It can be used to assess the security of a website, web application or network. In penetration testing, security engineers try to break through the path to the system. The goal of penetration testing is to assess the exploitability and impact of the vulnerability. That is, how easy it is to abuse, how much damage it can do, and how to fix it. Read more…

ISO 27001

Annex A of ISO 27001:2013 states:
“Information about technical vulnerabilities of information systems being used shall be obtained in a timely fashion, the organization’s exposure to such vulnerabilities evaluated, and appropriate measures be taken to address the associated risk.”
By conducting regular penetrations tests, your organization fulfils the requirements of ISO 27001. Fulfilling ISO requirements is not the sole purpose of pentests. Protecting your most valuable data at all times is. eBuilder Security recommends all organizations conduct one or more PenTest a year.
